As of press time there are only 55 shopping days left until Christmas. So, are you done shopping for Christmas gifts? No? Here are some ideas:
Christmas Gifts for Her
Jewelry by North

Amethyst Dragonfly pendant. Image source: Jewelry by North.
North (her first name, by the way) makes silver jewelry by hand in her own studio and I can personally attest to their beauty and quality, as I own of their pieces.
North uses the lost cast wax method to create their wearable art.
You can also get something custom made like I did.
Goat Milk’s Soap
From Happy Goats Soap comes cats. Or something like that.
Actually there are many different shapes at the Happy Goats Soap Etsy shop. You’ll find pigs, goats, flowers, and just plain bars.
You may recognize Happy Goats Soap’s spokesgoat Pricilla who blogs over at The Maaaaa of Pricilla.

These artisan lampwork, spinel and Akoya pearl earrings were designed by Patty Woodland of Broken Teepee Designs in Montana. She sells neckalces, bracelets, and earrings.

Christmas Gifts for Babies
Piggy Bank
I have been waiting for someone to have a baby just so I could give them one of these handmade piggy banks by Korff Ceramic Originals…
They also make pie dishes, plates and platters.
Shop at the Korff Ceramic Originals website.
Pacifier
For the little vampire in the family, you can pacify him or her with this item from ThinkGeek.com
Christmas Gifts for Foodies
Canned Unicorn Meat
Nothing says I love you like the gift of Unicorn Meat. Mmmmmm, mm! All the way from Ireland and only $12.99 at ThinkGeek.com. “An excellent source of sparkles.”
Ok, the rest of these are serious - I was kind of goofing off with those last two. Although they are real and offered on Think Geek, I can’t actually recommend them like the rest of the items on this list. Because I’ve not personally eaten unicorn meat. Have you? Was it canned or fresh?
Moving on…
Christmas Gifts for Book Readers (Humor & Sci-Fi)
Characters in Search of a Novel
by Molly Campbell
I recently read this hilarious one by the two-time Erma Bombeck Award-winning writer. Campbell began tweeting in these character’s voices and decided to give them a book of their own. Each chapter is dedicated to a different character and is a little story unto itself. Some are hysterical. Some are sad. All are good. (Illustrations by Randy Palmer). The paperback version is $12.99 while the Kindle version is $3.99. I’m a total cheap ass and got the Kindle version, so don’t feel bad if that’s what you want to do.

Scarecrows: A DANDY World (Volume 1)
by Jonathan Emrys
I’m not a Science Fiction fan, but this futuristic-themed, artificial life-like story set in downtown Los Angeles had crossover appeal. I don’t like it when you have to learn a bunch of new alien species and planet names and this didn’t have any of that so it was easy to get into. With engaging characters and poignant themes, I look forward to reading the 2nd in this trilogy when it comes out. And get this:
“…we are giving away the Kindle version on Amazon for FREE - one full day ONLY - on Wednesday October 31st (midnight morning to midnight evening) as a Halloween gift to anyone who’s interested”
WARNING: This book contains strong language…and a squirrel.

The conferences focus on bringing broader solutions to local problems.
“We help young women to develop the voice, the self-confidence, and the problem solving skills necessary for empowerment. Expanding Lives encourages participants to become active role models, leaders, and agents of change in their home communities.”
